The CrustBuster Mounted Double-Disc Drill is fitted with a parallel linkage - much like a planter. Firming wheels act as individual gauge wheels, allowing the seed to be planted at your settings. They pack the soil around the bean, leaving a center crown of soft earth over the top, and channeleing rain to the sides of the seed. Resulting crusting is then heaviest beside - not over - the emerging plant. Each opener is subject to just enough tension to keep its action at the right planting depth at all times and positive depth stop permits it to maintain that chosen depth.
